Coast Watch Services

As of 06 February 2009, the Coast Watch Service now operates out of Fua’amotu Airport co-located with the Meteorological Service. The Main Services provided by this service includes the flowing:

· 24hrs surveillance of maritime vessels within Tonga’s EEZ

· Facilitate maritime search and rescue operations within Tonga’s EEZ

· Provide maritime information (including weather information) for maritime vessels within Tonga’s EEZ and the general public

· Provide radio survey support for Tongan registered vessels
