A STRONG WIND WARNING IS NOW IN FORCE FOR THE NIUAS AND VAVA'U LAND AREAS.
SITUATION
A weak trough lies over Ha'apai and Vava'u bringing cloudy conditions with scattered showers across these areas for today. Meanwhile, a ridge of high-pressure extend onto the south of the group directing southeasterly winds across most parts of the group.

FOR VAVA'U AND HA'APAI:
Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh to strong at times specifically for Vava'u.
Cloudy periods with possible scattered showers. Become fine over Ha'apai later this morning.

FOR TONGATAPU AND 'EUA:
Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.
Mainly fine apart from cloudy periods with possible few showers.

FOR THE NIUAS:
Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, strong at times.
